Audrey Pfannmuller
Audrey Pfannmuller was raised in a small rural community in northwestern Alberta. Art and design have always been an important means of expression for her. She began her formal education at Olds College with a fashion certificate which was followed with a couturier degree under Sig Plach of Edmonton. She then replica watches for sale went on to study art at the Extension Branch of the University of Alberta under instructors Douglas Barry, Harry Savage, Harry Wolthfarth, Ihor Dymtryk, and Alfred Schmidt, and design and drawing took form. Future courses with Ruth Whitney-Gerwin, Brent Laycock, Neil Patterson, JHoe Abbrescia and Mike Svob have given strength to her own expression.
Audrey moved to Camrose in 1975 where she opened the Candler Art Gallery. At the Gallery, where she is in contact with people, she is able to share her concepts on the enjoyment of visual arts. Working in pastels and oils, Audrey shows her passion for life by choosing to paint people and their environment.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Where we live and as we grow, we take in the energy of that area and it becomes a part of us. We cannot disown it, but we can view it from all of its perspectives, each impacting us with its own energies, creating its own memories, taking us in our own direction. Connecting with the landscape, country or city, I infuse each area within me in order to interpret its essence in a way that others will embrace my intensity for the area. I paint to convey my emotions and feelings - expressions of everything around me. Inspired by Turner, Van Gogh, Constable and the Group of Seven, I desire to push color and texture to interpret the strength and diversity of this land. Regardless of the season, I am inspired by the fleeting beauty and internal power of nature. I choose to work in oils, pastels or acrylics.
