Gerry Nason

Gerry Nason is an artist and a sculptor who operated a successful graphics studio in Edmonton, Alberta for 20 years until 1980. He turned to sculpture in 1981 as a diversion from painting only to discover that he preferred working in the three dimensional. Since 1981, Gerry has developed his sculpture in various mediums and has attempted to learn all he could about them.

Gerry Nason's formal education consists of 7 years of apprenticeship in the Graphic Arts and 3 years of evening courses in Fine Arts at the University of Alberta. He also attended courses in sculpture, mold making, and bronze casting in the Red Deer College Series Programs.

Gerry works in stone, wood, ice, bronze, and other cast mediums. His work is primarily influenced by nature; his subject matter includes animals of Alberta, and figurative sculpture with emphasis on simplicity of shape.

Gerry Nason has been commissioned by numerous corporations and government agencies and his work has been included in both private and corporate collections across Canada and in Japan.
